Use of a cattle crush
This skill requires understanding of the mechanisms of the cattle crush to allow safe restraint of cattle.
The cattle crush is a means of restraint of a cow to allow various procedures, such as vaccinations or physical examinations, to be performed with reduced risk of injury to the animal and handler.
The skill involves being able to use all operational levers and doors, being able to “catch” a cow in the crush, and recognition of the dangers of working around a crush.
